The Revisit Project is one of India’s leading contemporary jazz fusion/funk bands, known for demystifying the complexity of the genre with a distinct Indian voice. Their sound blends tight grooves, old-school funk, and rhythmic jazz fusion/funk with lyrical narratives that reflect on life, love, and politics in India.
The band began its journey in 2014 as a tribute project, reinterpreting forgotten gems of Hindi film music through a jazz fusion/funk lens. This exploration soon gave way to a strong original voice, leading to a series of milestone releases:
• 2017 – Here We Go (Debut Album): Marked their transition from reinterpretation to original composition.
• 2019 – Brown Man’s Funk and Born in Delhi: Two genre-defining records that cemented their reputation in India’s independent jazz fusion/funk scene.
• 2022 – Capitalist Musician with a Left-Leaning Avatar: Their most politically nuanced and musically mature work to date.
With a growing presence across festivals, venues, and digital platforms, The Revisit Project continues to push the boundaries of jazz fusion/funk in India.
