"Kirin named after a benevolent divine beast, in Japanese mythology derived from giraffe because of its looks, which is a mix of giraffe, dragon, deer, and an ox—symbolizing harmony, wisdom, and the courage to walk gently while carrying immense power.
In the same spirit, Kirin the band embodies a rare convergence of contrasts. Drawing from progressive rock’s complexity, grunge raw emotional weight, and hard rock’s driving force, Kirin’s sound is both intricate and visceral—music that shifts shape without losing its core identity. Like the mythical beast it is named after, the band refuses to fit neatly into a single form, instead thriving in the space where elegance meets aggression and structure meets chaos.
Formed in September 2025 as a creative project, Kirin was born from the desire to explore music without rigid boundaries. Mehul, Kenneth and Fonzy (Alphonse) approached Reeshav who was studying in the same Sound school (SACAC) as Mehul, Reeshav turned out to be a good choice since his musical background converged with the band. Soon after Reeshav joined, our keys player Hritik also stepped in and this project was formed.
The band aims to create music that resonates on a deeper level—challenging listeners, provoking thought, and offering moments of intensity balanced by restraint. Powerful but not reckless, complex but not cold. At its core, Kirin is about fusion, rarity, and intention—a modern embodiment of an ancient myth, translated into sound for a restless, ever-changing musical landscape."
